Shampoo - I make my only. I buy Dr. Bronner Peppermint Soap. I then mix 3 parts soap and 1 part extra virgin olive oil. I put that in there because you want to have something to help moisturize the hair. I mix mine everytime I shampoo, but you can mix the whole thing up all at once and just shake it up everytime you use it. When I mix mine, this is what I mix together; 3 tbsp of the soap and 1 tbsp of oil and shake it up, then ready to use to shampoo my hair. Shampoo at least two times and rinse well. Dry your hair with a t-shirt or micro fiber towel because a regular towel will frizz it up and dry out the hair to quick. Use a wide tooth or shower comb when shampooing and conditioning the hair. Comb it out. Use a denman hair brush for your hair because it won't snag, stretch or break your hair off as much as a regular brush. Alot of the time I just use my fingers like a comb.
Conditioners - Well you basically can use any thing cheap for that. I use VO5 moisture milks, Suave professional almond and shea butter or Herbal Essence Hydration. Which ever is on sale. Always put on a shower cap to hold in a little heat while it's setting for the 5 to 15 minutes or so.
Leave-in Conditioner - I buy Creme of Nature Lemongrass and Rosemary Cream Leave-in Conditioner, but if you can get something like Kinky Curly Today, Miss Jessie or Carol Daughter's, that would be great, but you have to order them online because here in Syracuse they are hard to find. I then take that and mix with other things. I mix 2 tbsp of the leave-in, 2 tbsp of aloe vera juice, 2 tsp castor oil and 2 tsp olive or jojoba oil. Keep the aloe juice in the fridge after you open it and put the conditioner mix in the fridge as well. You can always make more at one time, I just make a little being that I have a TWA. This will make your hair soft and sometimes this may be all that you need in your hair for a couple of days. When you do put it in, make sure your hair is really wet and don't worry about it looking all white because it absorbs in.
Deep Conditioners - I make them. Here are a few that I make and use. 1/2 cup honey and 2 tbsp of olive oil, mix together well, microwave for about 30 seconds. put in hair and be careful that it's not to warm, then put on a shower cab for 15 - 30 minutes, then rinse out with conditioner and style as usual. You can take 1 banana, 1 egg, 1 tbsp milk and 5 tbsp of olive oil. Mix well in blender, then pour in your hair and let soak in for 15 - 30 minutes, then rinse out with conditioner. You can buy a deep conditioner, but sometimes you may come out cheaper with things you have home and to make your own. Shampoo your hair first, but don't put in the conditioner because you are doing an deep condition. Rinse it out and then do a quick flash rinse with water as cold as you can stand it so that the hai cuticles snap back closed.
Declarifing - I make my own mix. There's two that I use. I use 2 cups of cold water, as cold as you can stand it and 10 tsp of apple cider vinegar or I use 2 cups of warm water with 1 tbsp of baking soda. You'll pour this over your scalp, massage in and then rinse. If you use the apple vinegar, you don't have to rinse and the smell will go away on its own. This will clear away the builded up of hair products you use.
These are some of the things that I do and use. So what you are trying to do is, keep your hair soft and moisturized and not dry.
